Başkent ve İstanbul’daki Berberler Pazar günleri kapanıyor: Yeni düzenlemeye uyum sağladılar

Barber shops, hairdressers, and beauty salons in Ankara and Istanbul have decided to close on Sundays following the Ministry of Trade’s decision to implement a nationwide closure for these businesses one day per week. This decision, which came into effect on July 1, was made in response to requests and suggestions from sector stakeholders. Businesses found open on the designated closed days by the governorships will face administrative sanctions. Istanbul Barbers Association President Şükrü Akyüz stated that barbers in Istanbul will be closed on Sundays, with 93% of barbers in the city expressing their preference for this weekly day off. Akyüz highlighted that the ministry’s regulation will allow barbers to rest and be more refreshed, as they were previously unable to spend time with their families due to the demanding nature of their work. Sezayi Kara, President of the Ankara Barbers Craftsmen and Artisans Association, also confirmed that barbers in Ankara will no longer work on Sundays, emphasizing that this decision eliminates unfair competition and allows barbers to work more efficiently by providing them with a day off to spend with their loved ones. Both Akyüz and Kara expressed satisfaction with the decision made by the Ministry of Trade, which now gives a legal foundation to the existing practice of closing barbershops, hairdressers, and beauty salons one day per week. This regulation aims to improve the working conditions of barbers and allow them to have a better work-life balance. Barbers in both Ankara and Istanbul welcome this new regulation and look forward to benefiting from the opportunity to rest and recharge on Sundays. The Ministry’s decision has been met with positive feedback from the sector, as it addresses the concerns of barbers and ensures fair competition among businesses. Barbers across the country are now looking forward to implementing this new regulation and enjoying a well-deserved day off each week.
